He savours the gastronomic delights of life with great pleasure. Whenever the need arises, he finds spiritual solace in sailing and skiing. His feels most at home with his family and in the dwelling place of thought. He would like to have more time to write and shares his convictions with those who would listen when he has a cause. A graduate in systems and computer engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico (Higher Technical Institute), he began working while in school, which he considers a valuable experience. He supplemented this training with an MBA from Universidade Católica Portuguesa (Portuguese Catholic University). He joined Novabase in 1994 as a project manager and launched a new area in 1996 that would become the first spinoff of the Novabase business network.

Since then he has assumed various responsibilities, from Novabase Consulting CEO to CFO and CHRO of the group in 2007. He is currently doing what he loves most: managing the company that he helped to grow and where he spends many hours each day. He approaches leadership of Novabase as an enormous challenge. But he believes that he has a significant trump card: the best team that any CEO could desire: the Novabase team! Business support solutions

we cover a telecommunications operator’s entire range of applications from the standpoint of business support and operating processes (Customer Relationship Management and Unified Front-end), supporting the following channels: Self-Customer Care and PartnerPortals, and Sales Performance Management (commissions).

We also cover specialized areas such as corporate sales support (Sales Force Automation), customer loyalty systems, points of sale (POS), and knowledge management. We have a comprehensive vision of business processes and guarantee their integration and consistency

EVOLVE is an independent Portuguese SME specialised in verification and validation of software to European Space Agency. The company has been providing outsourcing services at ESOC and EUMETSAT.

EVOLVE developed competencies in several software areas in the Space & Aeronautics markets. The current experiments in wich the company is envolved are:

• Verification and Validation, assuring the quality level of the product meets the customer expectation;

• Simulation, allows the reproduction of a particular system’s behaviour through abstract models;

• Virtualization, a technique for hiding the physical characteristics of computing resources with a software layer;

• Control Systems, a system to manage, command, direct or regulate the behaviour of other devices or systems.

In June 2008, the company started the execution of its product oriented strategy. In order to implement this strategy, EVOLVE invested in R&D projects with clients such as ESA and Thales Alenia Space.

The current developments are:

• iMoted, immersive Systems and 3D engines applied in Space Operations or to support the Spacecraft Design;

• VIRTU, a virtualization tool for automatic test and configuration of applications on distributed environments;

• Mobile-gEO, geographical information application for mobile devices that combines some of the new features of mobile technologies.
